Pink Matcha Smoothie

It’s getting so popular to drink matcha tea instead of a coffee. With matcha, you’re drinking the actual leaves, which have been finely powdered and made into a solution, traditionally by mixing about a teaspoon of matcha powder with a third cup of hot water. Because matcha is made from high-quality tea, and the whole leaves are ingested, it’s a more potent source of nutrients than steeped green tea. In addition to providing small amounts of vitamins and minerals, matcha is rich in antioxidants called polyphenols, which have been tied to protection against heart disease and cancer, as well as better blood sugar regulation, blood pressure reduction, and anti-aging.

If you are a coconut water lover and a matcha tea lover, we have the perfect recipe for you!

A Matcha smoothie is low in sugar yet still sweet and creamy as we substituted  banana with avocado to get that thick smoothie texture we all love and crave. Avocados are packed with antioxidants and good fats to help you feel fuller for longer, which makes them the perfect banana replacement for this recipe.

Adding matcha to your smoothies gives you a huge antioxidant boost to help clear your skin, give you a glow and increase your energy levels.  Matcha also has thermogenic properties and will boost your metabolism and aid fat burning all day long! Raw coconut water has naturally occurring electrolytes and minerals such as potassium, calcium and magnesium which keep you properly hydrated and healthy…. could this smoothie be more superfoody?!
